Thomas F. Frawley, MD Research Fellowship Award

Tom Frawley, MD ’44

Thomas F. Frawle.

As a young resident, Thomas Frawley, MD ’44, sought and received funding from UB to enable him to support his family while pursuing his postgraduate training. He went on to a successful career as a nationally recognized researcher in diabetes and metabolism, serving as President of the American College of Physicians and Chair of Medicine at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. In gratitude, he established this award to aid new physician-researchers in similar circumstances.

The Thomas F. Frawley, MD, Residency Research Fellowship Fund supports medical or surgical residents and new graduates for whom research represents a primary personal interest and passion.

The award is intended to offset research costs or personal expenses to help a resident pursue research on completion of his or her residency.
