A Community Service Program of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Mini Medical School is a community outreach program designed to provide an accessible and engaging introduction to various aspects of healthcare and medicine.
Our goal is to demystify medical concepts, promote health literacy, and inspire individuals to pursue careers in healthcare.
Since 1997, the Jacobs School Mini Med program has been providing the Western New York community with an inside look at the medical school experience through lectures on a wide variety of compelling medical subjects. The mission, set by its founder, Professor Harry Sultz, DDS, was to educate the community about medical science, medical practice, and the contributions of the Jacobs School clinicians and researchers. “Where People and Science Meet” was the slogan that captured the spirit of the program.
The program offers a series of engaging and interactive sessions that cover a wide range of topics relevant to medicine and healthcare.
Instructors are experienced and passionate faculty members, healthcare professionals, and researchers from the Jacobs School.
Our target audience includes community members, high school students, college students, and individuals considering a career in healthcare.
