Dipesh Patel, MPH

Dipesh is a seasoned leader in clinical research operations with a strong background in public health and business management. As Director of Operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine Research Division, he specializes in driving research innovation, streamlining study implementation, and optimizing data systems like REDCap. With a proven track record in managing diverse research portfolios and mentoring teams, Dipesh combines strategic vision with operational expertise to advance impactful research. He also served as a Governing Councilor for the American Public Health Association’s Epidemiology Section, reflecting his commitment to public health leadership and advocacy.
Dr. Kelleran is a professor and researcher in the Department of Emergency Medicine with over a decade of experience in clinical, occupational, and first responder research. He is a frequent contributor to the field, regularly publishing and presenting his work at local and national conferences. Dr. Kelleran’s research focuses on improving treatments and outcomes for emergency department patients, particularly those with low back pain, while contributing to diverse projects in emergency medicine and EMS. With more than 15 years of experience as a firefighter and EMT, Dr. Kelleran leverages his unique background to bridge gaps between kinesiology, emergency medicine, and public health.
Tiffany Jenzer, PhD
Research Scientist
Dr. Tiffany Jenzer is a research scientist and research assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Jenzer is a clinical psychologist who completed her doctorate in the Department of Psychology at the University at Buffalo. She then received her postdoctoral training at the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University. Her areas of expertise include the etiology and treatment of substance use disorders in both adolescents and adults, trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress disorder and emotion regulation processes. Clinically, she has worked in several settings, including in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric clinics and in intensive substance use disorder treatment programs. She is passionate about improving existing treatments for substance misuse and increasing access to care for vulnerable populations. She brings a unique background to the Emergency Medicine Department, with her focus on behavioral principles and knowledge of psychological interventions. She hopes to use this expertise to further enhance care for substance-using populations who present to emergency departments.
Rosmery Landaverde Deras, MPH
Research Coordinator
Emergency Medicine
Rosmery is a first-generation student who earned her MPH from UB in 2024 with an individualized concentration. She is passionate about community health and health administration. Over the past five years, Rosmery has been involved in research projects like the Veggie Van, which aimed to improve food availability and affordability in lower-income communities. This experience gave her the opportunity to work closely with underserved populations and address social determinants of health. Her background in public health drives her ongoing commitment to advocating for better health and quality of life for all. On her free time Rosmery enjoys trying new recipes, working out and listening to Crime Junkie.
Orian Painter, MPH
Research Coordinator
Emergency Medicine
Orian is a research coordinator with the Department of Emergency Medicine. She earned a BS in Geology from the City College of New York (CUNY) and an MPH in Environmental Health from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). Prior to joining UB MD, Orian held positions in environmental health research, water quality monitoring, family health outreach, and public health education. As a research coordinator, Orian primarily coordinates studies involving health monitoring devices and contributes to other departmental projects through GIS analysis, literature reviews, and assisting in the development of grant proposals and articles. In addition to her professional interests, Orian is an avid painter of landscapes, animal portraits, and surreal scenes.
