Team Alice Medication Safety and Empowerment Curriculum (MedSEC)

Team Alice will design and implement a two-part interactive curriculum to improve medication safety awareness and empower participants to engage in conversations with health care providers, called the Medication Safety and Empowerment Curriculum (MedSEC). To promote long-term sustainability, a “Train-the-Trainer” module will be developed to prepare senior center staff to independently deliver the curriculum. The project team will pilot the program in senior centers serving diverse populations across Erie and Niagara counties. The program will reach 125 older adults and their caregivers through partnerships with selected senior centers. Additionally, MedSEC will also be piloted in a hospital setting.
