Cardiovascular Medicine

Vijay Iyer.

“We strive to deliver exemplary patient care, conduct life-changing research and inspire the next generation of cardiovascular specialists,” says Vijay Iyer, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Whether we’re teaching, conducting research or caring for patients, our division is driven by a singular purpose: to advance the understanding, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.

We educate and mentor medical students, residents and fellows, equipping our trainees with the knowledge and skills that align with both their training level and their professional ambitions.

Faculty in our large — and growing — division are recognized nationally and internationally for our basic, clinical and translational investigations. Our research has had profound implications for cardiovascular health, and we continue to break ground investigating the causes of cardiovascular disease and translating our findings to improved care.

Indeed, all of our divisional efforts come full circle to our patients. Thanks to our faculty’s depth of subspecialty expertise, we’re known regionwide for providing patients with the most sophisticated care and the most advanced treatments available.
