Our research on bacterial pathogens focuses primarily on how these simple, single-celled organisms cause disease.  

Our research explores disease-causing pathogens, host immune responses to infection, immunity, immune regulation, mucosal vaccine adjuvants and vaccine development.

We study a wide variety of viruses, including papillomaviruses, HIV and HCMV. We aim to understand and prevent viral infection and to develop antiviral therapies.
