Epilepsy Clinic

David W. Hojnacki, MD.

You will present your pediatric and adult epilespy patient cases to attending physicians such as David W. Hojnacki, MD, an expert in neuroimmunology.

See patients in our clinics and then present cases to your supervising attending physician to discuss diagnosis and management. Clinics are focused on pediatric and adult epilepsy patients.

To ensure that you are a well-rounded physician, the patient population you see will be contingent on your previous training. If your training background is in adult neurology, you will see both pediatric and adult patients. If your background is in child neurology, we will gear this rotation toward experience with adult patients.

We’ll instruct you on initial workups for patients with possible epilepsy, long-term management of patients with epilepsy, pre-surgical workups, and management of pregnant patients with epilepsy.

You can expect opportunities to expand your understanding of the full range of procedures, including:

  • electroencephalography
  • electromyography
  • adult and child neuropsychologic testing

You may also gain experience in an infusion clinic for intravenous therapies and neuroimaging interpretation.

You’ll gain a wealth of experience, as you will have four to seven patients scheduled for each half-day clinic.

Length of Rotation
