Specialized Emergency Psychiatry Training
Dedicated emergency psychiatric faculty working in New York State’s busiest Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) provide a distinctive opportunity for trainees to assess and manage patients & families experiencing a broad range of behavioral health crises, explore barriers to accessing care and navigate the wider system influencing mental health outcomes.
Train at a Regional Center of Excellence
The Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) is a Level I Trauma Center, and as an academic medical center incorporates nearly 600 inpatient beds, primary care, more than 30 specialty outpatient clinics, the regional center of excellence for behavioral health, trauma and rehabilitation, and is home to our CPEP.
CPEP is staffed by faculty with unique clinical expertise and skills, ready to work with trainees in this specialized patient care setting and committed to identifying & treating behavioral health emergencies in service of the community’s mental health treatment needs. It is at the hub of a diverse and robust system of care that our CPEP faculty excel in understanding and navigating, to facilitate the provision of comprehensive care for our patients and expert clinical teaching experience for our trainees.
