Sandra Kicman

Sandra Kicman, photographer for the Jacobs School, is responsible for shooting studio, portrait and on-location work. She also shoots candid work and provides coverage for events such as graduation, award ceremonies, social gatherings, research days and student club meetings. 

Kicman is a higher education photographer with more than a decade of experience capturing campus life at UB. She has a background in commercial and portrait photography, and — as a former owner of an independent photography studio — she has enjoyed successful partnerships with marketing agencies and magazines.

Kicman is adept at using Adobe programs like Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom to edit and organize photos. She is also able to shoot video footage. Beyond her technical skills, her career experience has given her plenty of knowledge about a wide range of cameras, equipment and related supplies. 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in professional photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology. 

Kicman has produced thousands of photographs for the Jacobs School. Her work primarily appears on the Jacobs School’s websites and on the school’s social media accounts. Her work has also appeared in UB advertising campaigns and within the school’s alumni magazine.
