Journal Club

The journal club creates a forum for interns and residents to undertake critical appraisal of the medical literature, building skills for lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.

During your second and third years, you will select an article from the medical literature pertinent to patient care. You will evaluate this article independently and present the article and your evaluation to your peers at a meeting of the journal club. Other residents will be prepared to discuss the article you present and we encourage you to invite faculty as well.

Providing excellent care requires a strong critical ability to search, read and interpret medical literature. Active participation in our journal club helps you formulate useful clinical questions, find relevant research and appraise it using accepted criteria to reach the most informed decisions possible for your patients’ well-being.
