14 New Faculty Join 5 Medical School Departments

Fourteen faculty members with varied research and clinical expertise have joined the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences over the past several months.

Misbah H. Ahmad, MD, assistant professor.

Seema A. Bhat, MD, assistant professor, completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Jacobs SMBS-Roswell Park Cancer Institute and a residency in internal medicine at Jacobs SMBS-Sisters of Charity Hospital.

She earned her medical degree from Kashmir University Government Medical College.

Mahmoud Fenire, MD, assistant professor, is a nocturnist who specializes in internal medicine and earned his medical degree from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.

Gregory Fuhrer, MD, assistant professor, is the assistant program director of the pulmonary disease and critical care fellowship program.

He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the National Capital Consortium.

Fuhrer completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the National Naval Medical Center and earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School.

Daniel L. Giesler, MD, assistant professor, completed residencies at SUNY Upstate Syracuse and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He earned his medical degree at Jacobs SMBS, where he also earned a PharmD.

Jujhar Sandhu, MD, assistant professor.

Alexis A. Lizarraga, MD, clinical assistant professor, completed fellowship training in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the University of Miami School of Medicine and a neuromuscular medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General/Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School.

She completed a neurology residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital-University of Miami and earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Saad Baqai, MD, clinical assistant professor, completed fellowships in cytopathology and oncologic surgical pathology at Jacobs SMBS-Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

He completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Danbury Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Baqai Medical University.

Kunal Chadha, MD, clinical assistant professor, specializes in pediatric emergency medicine.

He completed Jacobs SMBS’s pediatric emergency medicine fellowship, as well as its pediatrics residency. Chada earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.

Anna F. Hays, MD, clinical assistant professor, completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian and earned her medical degree from Jacobs SMBS.

Aron McCloud, DO, clinical assistant professor, specializes in pediatric cardiology.

He completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology and a residency and internship in pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital. McCloud earned his DO degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Bridget O. Messina, MD, clinical assistant professor, completed a residency and internship in pediatrics at New York University School of Medicine. Messina earned her medical degree from Jacobs SMBS.

Munmun Rawat, MD, research assistant professor, specializes in neonatal-perinatal medicine.

She completed Jacobs SMBS’s neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship and a pediatrics residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

Rawat also completed pediatrics internships at Brookdale University Hospital Medical College and Gandhi Medical College. She earned her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College.

Molly E. Moore, MD, clinical assistant professor, completed fellowships in surgical critical care and in critical care in the Division of Burn Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She completed a surgical internship and general surgery residency at Jacobs SMBS and earned her medical degree from Jacobs SMBS.
