To promote a scholarly environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and promotes excellent patient care, the UB Graduate Medical Dental Education Program (UBGMDE) offers Quality Improvement Awards, providing up to $3,000 to support team-driven projects.
Resident/faculty teams can apply for one of up to seven awards for projects designed to improve patient safety by measuring outcomes and using quality improvement methods.
UBGMDE prioritizes projects that focus on health disparities, high value care, patient satisfaction and communication, patient safety and individual hospital outpatient and inpatient quality improvement issues.
Proposals should also consider how the project addresses the six dimensions for quality improvement proposed by the Institute of Medicine: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency and equity.
