Clinical Research Faculty Mentoring Program

Class of 2025 trainee Katelyn Carr, PhD.

Mentee Katelyn Carr, PhD ’15, is a member of our inaugural 2025 class of five faculty trainees.

Supporting Faculty Development

The Clinical Research Faculty Mentoring Program offers monthly half-day seminars and hands-on training in critical research areas including study and specific aim design, proposal writing, biostatistics, power calculations, and REDCap. Participants also engage in monthly one-on-one meetings with mentors to discuss progress, tackle challenges, expand professional networks, and collaborate on proposals and publications. To participate, faculty must commit to attending one afternoon session per month for one year, meet monthly with a designated mentor, and obtain approval and a letter of support from their division chief.

Our Goals

  1. Enhance Clinical Research Skills: Develop critical research skills: study design, data analysis, grant writing, and manuscript preparation.
  2. Career Development: Provide guidance on career planning, identify professional opportunities, assist in setting/achieving career goals.
  3. Networking Opportunities: Provide access to a broader professional network, facilitate collaborations and open new opportunities.
