Following an initial screening of the ERAS application, and based on minimum requirements for acceptance into the program, applicants for residency are invited for interviews.
The Resident Selection Committee conducts interviews from about 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on four Saturdays during the fall and winter months. Between 40 and 50 applicants are interviewed at each session by up to four faculty members.
Applicants are invited to a virtual meet & greet with residents Friday night preceding the interview session for an informal discussion of the program.
There are a few applicants who cannot come to UB during the scheduled interview time. For these candidates, it may be possible to set up special interviews during the week. These candidates are then referred to the selection committee at their next committee meeting.
