Training

If you’re a resident on the suburban/Millard Fillmore – UB Family Medicine Amherst track, you’ll spend one to two half-days per week here during your first year of residency, two to three half-days during your second year and three to four half-days during your third.

Supervised by seven full-time departmental faculty, including a psychologist, you’ll be assigned a panel of families in your first year and follow them throughout residency, taking on new patients as your peers graduate.

You’ll diagnose patients with the breadth of acute and chronic illness, including mental illness. Each year about 50 of our prenatal patients deliver at nearby Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, site of your continuity outpatient training.

In our procedure room, you’ll regularly perform skin biopsies, joint injections, colposcopy and other gynecological procedures, as well as vasectomies.
