Our division’s clinical work provides valuable training and teaching opportunities for fellows, residents and medical students while enabling patient recruitment for our clinical and translational research efforts.
Along with their teaching and research endeavors, our faculty are committed to providing exceptional clinical care at our affiliated hospitals and medical centers. Our physicians’ areas of expertise include:
Our board-certified faculty provide comprehensive inpatient services at Buffalo General Medical Center, Buffalo VA Medical Center and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. We provide a full spectrum of services, including:
We provide outpatient care at a variety of diverse sites, including:
In our outpatient settings, we evaluate and manage outpatients with a range of general pulmonary problems including asthma, lung masses, COPD and interstitial lung disease. We perform pulmonary function tests, full radiographic services, six-minute walk tests and complex cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Additionally, we conduct invasive pulmonary diagnostic testing, such as bronchoscopy.
In our pulmonary hypertension program, our pulmonary hypertension expert evaluates and manages outpatients with suspected or confirmed pulmonary arterial hypertension.
At our specialized cancer institute site, we work with outpatients who have lung cancer, and we offer special interventional bronchoscopic techniques for diagnosis and treatment.
Our sleep specialists see outpatients with sleep related disorders and conduct sleep studies. On a weekly basis, we conduct several sleep disorder clinics and an insomnia clinic. We work in comprehensive diagnostic sleep testing facilities and provide therapy for sleep disorders.
Our community-based sleep facilities complement our hospital-based outpatient sleep clinics. Here, we provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with the broad range of sleep disorders.
Our emphasis on human-based translational research and clinical research requires constant enrollment of patients in studies.
All members of our division contribute to this effort by providing referrals to study personnel and discussing study opportunities with patients.
