UBMD Internal Medicine has initiated a new five-year strategic plan that delineates the department’s mission, vision and strategic priorities and goals.
“Building on the success of our previous plan, the department’s new strategic plan will facilitate continued growth of the department in targeted areas of research and clinical care,” says president and CEO Anne B. Curtis, MD, SUNY Distinguished Professor, Charles and Mary Bauer Professor and chair of medicine.
“It will also enable us to develop and adapt to upcoming changes in the health care environment,” she says.
The department’s outlined mission is to focus on being a national leader in providing exemplary integrated primary and specialty patient care, training outstanding future physicians, and conducting interdisciplinary research to expand biomedical knowledge and discover innovative treatments and cures.
The core values of the plan will encompass integrity, integration and innovation while achieving excellence through relentless dedication to quality, performance and superior outcomes.

Achieving these goals will help the department serve as a regional leader in improving health care throughout the community.
