Physiology Doctoral Student Recognized for Her Research

The Cell and Molecular Physiology Section of the American Physiological Society has honored a research poster presentation by Bianca Quade, a graduate student in the physiology doctoral program.
Her project — which focused on the properties of acid-base balancing mechanisms in the cornea of the eye — earned a Robert Gunn Student Award at the 2019 Experimental Biology meeting April 8 in Orlando, Florida.
An expert panel at the meeting judged student poster presentations. Quade was one of three graduate students to win a $500 prize, plus reimbursement of her registration fee.
Quade is a student in the laboratory of Mark D. Parker, PhD, assistant professor of physiology and biophysics.
