The Biochemistry Stockroom provides laboratory supplies to faculty on the UB campuses and in our teaching hospitals. We offer walk-up service for customers within the SMBS complex, and will deliver non-chemical supplies by campus mail, and chemicals by Occupational and Environmental Safety Services (OESS), to our other customers.

We are the only source on campus with a license to purchase and distribute ethyl alcohol. We also supply a variety of other materials:

• acids and bases
• solvents
• salts
• a full range of laboratory notions
• scintillation fluid

We house two consignment freezer programs for molecular biology products: one for Promega products distributed by Fisher Scientific and one for products distributed by Invitrogen. Researchers have immediate access to these products, get lower prices than the companies offer for direct orders and pay no shipping costs.

The Fisher/Promega program is managed through a self-service freezer cabinet in Farber 10-A. You will need to set up an account on the Promega website, and will then be able to view stock information in real time and access the facility 24 hours a day.
