Welcome Jeffry Comanici, New Assistant Vice President for Principal Gifts and Executive Director of Advancement

Dear Jacobs School community,

We are thrilled to welcome Jeffry Comanici as the new assistant vice president for principal gifts and executive director of advancement at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Jeff brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and community engagement.

Jeff most recently served as the executive director of post-traditional advancement at Syracuse University. In this capacity, he developed and implemented strategies to engage post-traditional alumni, resulting in significant increases in alumni support and engagement.

Jeff is an active Syracuse University alumnus, having graduated from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and finance. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. His career at Syracuse University includes roles as assistant dean for advancement at the College of Visual and Performing Arts, chief development officer and leadership positions within the School of Information Studies.

Beyond academia, Jeff has made a significant impact in Central New York. He served as president and executive director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and played a pivotal role in designing and managing a comprehensive principal/planned/major gift program at the Crouse Health Foundation.

Jeff’s extensive experience and strategic vision will undoubtedly enhance our advancement efforts at the Jacobs School. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Jeffry Comanici. We eagerly anticipate the innovative contributions he will bring to our community.
