Linda Rudy, MBA, is associate vice president for business operations for the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. In this role, she provides strategic oversight of the school’s business, financial and administrative operations in support of its academic, research and clinical missions.

Rudy partners closely with school leadership, department chairs, physician leaders and central administration to ensure that resources, systems and processes align with institutional priorities and advance education, discovery and clinical innovation. Her portfolio includes oversight of complex, multi-source budgets and enterprise-wide operational functions that support the growth and sustainability of academic medicine.

With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, academic medicine and community health care, Rudy brings deep expertise in financial management, operational strategy and organizational leadership. Prior to joining the Jacobs School, she served as chief financial officer for the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the Batten School of Marine Science at William & Mary, where she was a member of the executive leadership team and oversaw finance, sponsored programs, data strategy, procurement, capital planning and administrative services.

Rudy previously held senior leadership roles at the University of Miami, West Virginia University, and WVU Medicine, where she supported schools of medicine, dentistry, public health, engineering and business. Across these institutions, she led efforts to modernize systems, strengthen financial and research infrastructure, and support interdisciplinary collaboration in complex academic and health care environments.

Known for her collaborative leadership style, Rudy is recognized for her ability to translate strategy into action while building strong partnerships across disciplines and missions.
