Community Engagement and Advocacy Champion of the Year

The purpose of the Community Engagement and Advocacy Champion of the Year Award is to recognize and honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership in engaging with and advocating for the community.

Eligibility

Must have a primary appointment in the Department of Medicine.

Selection Criteria (preferred qualifications)

Outstanding Community Engagement

  • Demonstrates a significant commitment to engaging with the community through outreach programs, events and initiatives
  • Effectively connects with diverse community groups to address their needs and enhance their well-being

Advocacy Impact

  • Shows leadership in advocating for important health, social, or policy issues, making a measurable impact on the community
  • Successfully influences policies, practices, or initiatives that benefit the community and improve quality of life

Collaborative Efforts

  • Works collaboratively with community organizations, stakeholders and other advocates to achieve shared goals
  • Builds strong partnerships and networks to amplify the reach and effectiveness of advocacy efforts

Positive Community Impact

  • Achieves tangible and positive outcomes through their community engagement and advocacy work
  • Receives recognition and positive feedback from community members and organizations for their contributions
