Memory Disorders (Behavioral Neurology)

In our comprehensive Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders Center, you will build specialized knowledge of common neurodegenerative diseases, including:

• Alzheimer’s disease
• mixed dementia
• dementia with Lewy bodies
• frontotemporal dementia
  

You will learn:

• how to identify clinical presentations
  
• how cholinesterase inhibitors slow cognitive and functional decline
  
• how to monitor drug effectiveness through measures of cognition and function
  

You also will learn to assist patients and their families with quality- and end-of-life issues, including family interventions that can delay nursing home placement.
