Applying for Residency
Our five-year residency program is competitive and selective. More than 600 physicians apply each year, but we can accept only five.
Application Process
We accept applications for our residency program through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) beginning in September each year.
Our program director will review your application in its entirety. We do not screen our applicants, but we do look for USMLE Step 1 numbers above 220.

Visit ERAS to see which documents you’re required to submit during the application process. Please be sure to include “Why Buffalo” in your personal statement.
Interviews
We hold our interviews in December and January each year. We typically interview 60 applicants.
