Scholarships and Awards

We recognize your accomplishments and support your research and scholarship.

Our department offers a yearly research award to one resident who gives the best research presentation at our Eugene R. Mindell, MD, Orthopaedic Residency Scientific Program. A research committee and a visiting professor will vote on the presentation via ballot.

The school funds a variety of awards to support your professional development and honor you for your achievements:

This award recognizes a junior research scientist for the best basic science research that seeks to solve a clinical problem.
The Evan Calkins, MD, Fellowship for Community-Based Research provides funding for community-based research or Quality Improvement projects conducted by residents or junior faculty. Priority will be given to proposals directed toward the health care needs of the poor and medically disadvantaged in a community-based setting.
The Siegel Awards are the foremost means for recognizing extraordinary teachers in our school.
This award supports medical or surgical residents and new graduates for whom research represents a primary personal interest and passion.
