At this clinic, you will be supervised by highly qualified faculty and staff as you evaluate children with a range of psychiatric problems.
This clinic, licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, provides diagnostic and treatment services to Western New York youth experiencing emotional and/or behavioral disturbances or family relationship problems. It specializes in complex and difficult psychiatric disorders.
The clinic has separate teen and child/family waiting rooms with appropriate furniture, artwork, games and activity resources; a warm, welcoming family therapy and observation unit, the only one of its kind in the area; and a state-of-the-art observation room to help faculty and staff provide positive, comforting care.
The clinic sees more than 13,000 new cases annually with more than 500 active cases at any one time. Its patients, ages 2 to 18, come from a wide variety of backgrounds reflecting the ethnic makeup of Buffalo’s population. They use Medicaid and other forms of insurance.
