Our department has strong relationships with several research centers in the Buffalo area.

  • Clinical and Research Institute on Addictions

    Contributes to research in three primary areas: etiology, prevention and treatment; social, psychological and neurophysiological aspects of addiction; and health and medical aspects of addiction.

  • Neuropsychology Center

    Director: Ralph H. Benedict, PhD

    Employs behavioral psychometrics to understand how cerebral disease affects personality, cognition and psychiatric stability. Develops widely adopted tests, notably memory tests, to determine areas of cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis, cerebral injury and disease, and other conditions.

    An integrated academic home for UB’s outstanding clinical research and translational science, and the hub of the Buffalo Translational Consortium. The CTSI provides innovative research tools, support, training, resources and coordination.
