Research & Facilities

Our program encompasses an interdisciplinary community of investigators and clinicians exploring genetic processes and diseases.

Our faculty and students collaborate with scientists at specialized university and community research centers, including Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Witebsky Center for Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology.

  • Areas of Research
    3/15/17
Our broad scope of inquiry encompasses human, medical and developmental genetics and genomics throughout the lifespan; microbial genetics and pathogenesis; and genetic and genomic analysis through bioinformatics.
  • Research Day
    3/15/24
Research Day attracts faculty from across the university, giving you a chance to discuss your study with expert scientists, draw ideas from your colleagues, engage with potential collaborators and further your career goals.
  • Core Facilities
    3/15/17
Our school’s shared core instrumentation and transgenic animal facilities support research by UB faculty and investigators at our affiliated institutions. These facilities not only house state-of-the-art equipment but in many cases also provide data analysis, training and grant writing consultation.
  • Research Centers
    6/19/14
Our program’s associated research centers include specialized facilities for basic, translational and clinical research.
