This award recognizes one program director annually who best exemplifies qualities of a leader, effective educator, resident advocate and role model.
Program directors of a University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences-sponsored accredited residency or fellowship program with one or more years of experience are eligible.
The nominee should make outstanding contributions to UB Graduate Medical Education, going above and beyond by:

Each nomination submitted should exemplify why your nominee is deserving of the GME Program Director Award of Excellence. The submission should address the award criteria in 500 words or less, and provide details that support the nominee's involvement to document the criteria as noted above.

An award of $900 will be granted to an exemplary candidate and can be used toward registration at or travel to a national meeting, or in support of extra educational program initiatives to benefit residents and fellows. The award must be claimed by December 31, 2023.
