Review the chart on the Required Certifications page to determine if ACLS is required for your program. You must arrive at orientation with proof of valid ACLS certification. Failure to do so may delay your training program start date.
The ACLS course is a two-day course and must be American Heart Association-compliant. Below are two resources provided by UB-affiliated hospitals. You may access additional resources as long as they are AHA-compliant and completed in person.
Cost: $125. Cash or checks payable to Buffalo CPR and mailed to ECMC, 462 Grider Street, Buffalo, NY 14215.

ACLS reimbursement will be provided for an initial certification course not to exceed $125.00. Reimbursement will only be made for trainees whose program requires ACLS certification. Reimbursement will be made for actual course cost if less than $125.00. If you hold a current ACLS certification, but it will expire within 30 days of the start of training, you are eligible to take and be reimbursed for a one-day recertification course, not to exceed $85.00. Completed courses must include an in-person portion; online only courses are not accepted and will be denied.
ACLS reimbursement will be provided to current resident and fellows whose certification will expire in 2024. The deadline to be reimbursed for any approved ACLS course taken during 2024 is December 31, 2024. Reimbursement for recertifications are not to exceed $85.00. Please provide your updated completion certificate to your training program administrator for an upload to Medhub. Completed courses must include an in-person portion; online only courses are not accepted and will be denied. If your submission is approved please expect up to four business weeks for reimbursement to arrive.
