As we celebrate Nurses’ Week (May 6-12) and Hospital Week (May 12-18) this May, it's a time to reflect on the vital partnerships that drive our mission for a healthier tomorrow. The synergy between our institution and clinical affiliates underscores the indispensable role of nurses and the entire clinical team in ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.
At the University at Buffalo, our collaboration extends across five schools of health sciences – the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, dental medicine, nursing, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, and public health and health professions. This unique alignment fosters innovation in education, research and clinical care, empowering us to meet the evolving health care needs of our community and preparing a skilled workforce to address the evolving challenges of tomorrow.
As the American population continues to age, the demand for this type of interprofessional collaboration becomes even more necessary to help us gain a deeper understanding of patient needs and positively impact patient safety, health equity and outcomes throughout the care continuum.
Thank you to all of the dedicated individuals throughout UB and our community who tirelessly strive for excellence in health care.
Warm regards,
