Assistant Vice President for Principal Gifts and Executive Director of Advancement
Jeffry Comanici, MPA, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and community engagement to his role at the Jacobs School.
He most recently served as the executive director of post-traditional advancement at Syracuse University where he led the effort to identify and engage over 350,000 nontraditional alumni. His career at Syracuse University includes roles as assistant dean for advancement at the College of Visual and Performing Arts, chief development officer and leadership positions within the School of Information Studies.
Comanici graduated from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and finance. He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Beyond academia, Comanici made a significant impact in Central New York. He served as president and executive director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and played a pivotal role in designing and managing a comprehensive principal/planned/major gift program at the Crouse Health Foundation as director of philanthropy.
