Emergency Room Intervention

Emergency rooms are an essential access point for patients struggling with substance use disorders. In this rotation, you will work side by side with ER physicians and social workers to provide treatment and prevention initiatives to patients.

You will assess patients both after overdose and during acute withdrawal syndromes to determine the appropriate level of treatment.

One-on-one mentoring with Joshua Lynch, DO, the founder of NY MATTERS, provides a unique opportunity for fellows to learn innovative public health initiatives improving access to treatment in emergency room settings.
