Core Facilities

Our school’s shared core instrumentation and transgenic animal facilities support studies by UB faculty and investigators at our affiliated institutions. These facilities house state-of-the-art equipment and enable cutting-edge research.

Researchers in our division make particular use of facilities including:

11/12/18
Features state-of-the-art imaging equipment dedicated to clinical and translational research, including MRI, CT and PET/CT scanners.
6/7/19
Our instrument laboratory provides training and consultation services for researchers whose work involves flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and gel-documentation. We work closely with other core facilities to provide comprehensive and integrative services to solve the imaging and cytometry challenges presented by cutting-edge research programs.
11/12/18
Features state-of-the-art imaging equipment dedicated to clinical and translational research, including MRI, CT and PET/CT scanners.
11/26/18
Enables researchers to obtain transmission electron microscope images of materials, polymers and biological samples; consults with investigators and assists with equipment operation.
2/7/19
Performs all procedures related to tissue preservation and histological analysis, including training on cryostat use and other protocols.
10/4/18
Equips researchers with a HIPAA-compliant computing environment, healthcare datasets and analytic and security consulting.
11/12/18
Offers high-throughput, next-generation sequencing and gene-expression analysis services, including 3’-expression, miRNA, exon and gene arrays.
11/12/18
Identifies proteins in cell or tissue extracts using several different liquid chromotography/mass spectrometry based approaches.
11/12/18
Supports investigators interested in gene transfer using viral vector technologies.
