Whether you're planning to enter clinical practice or are pursuing an academic career, our renowned faculty, comprehensive clinical training and unique research opportunities prepare you for success.
Whether you aspire to center your career on research or aim to concentrate mostly on clinical care, our program is equipped to help you meet your goals.
Our fellowship offers two paths of study: a research track and clinical track.
With its emphasis on serious investigative work, our research track is ideal for physician-scientists who seek careers devoted to research.
On our clinical track, you will receive supplementary clinical instruction that prepares you for a successful career dedicated to patient care.
We keep our curriculum up to date; we review and revise it on an ongoing basis, taking ever-changing medical practices and fellows’ feedback into account.
Our program boasts well-rounded training. You will rotate through our GI consult, outpatient gastroenterology, advanced procedure, continuity clinic and cancer institute rotations, which are hosted at our diverse training sites. The skills you learn in these rotations will be augmented by our elective rotations and didactics.
We promote interdisciplinary and inter-institutional interaction between faculty and fellows. Our program gives you the unique opportunity to pursue electives locally, throughout the country or internationally.
Our conferences will expand your education, improve your ability to communicate with practitioners from other medical disciplines and give you multidisciplinary exposure to related fields such as pathology, radiology, surgery and oncology.
With their academic and research credentials and extensive clinical expertise, our faculty members bring knowledge and insight into your training.
Our faculty will make themselves readily available to you throughout your time in our program, providing personalized mentorship in rotations and guiding you on research.
Our fellowship enables you to collaborate with world-class faculty on meaningful, in-depth research projects.
The low fellow-to-faculty ratio in our division allows our mentors to work one-on-one with you as you carry out basic, clinical or translational research.
Our faculty members have diverse interests; you can explore a wide variety of research areas. We provide unique instruction in biomedical research principles, and our program boasts specialized biostatistical research support.
