Teaching

Rashmi Bismark teaching.

You will have opportunities to share your knowledge and skills by teaching throughout the two years of residency training.

This may include presenting at seminars and in graduate courses, as well as facilitating medical students’ small group discussions in courses taught in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health.

Additionally, you will be encouraged to be a thought leader in all practicum settings and to conduct teaching sessions for your fellow residents (in preventive medicine and other specialties) and community members.

Former residents have shared their expertise by:

  • Providing sessions for residents in primary care clinic settings about preventive screenings and immunizations
  • Designing lectures about physician burnout and wellness for UB residents and faculty
  • Teaching local health department staff about recent infectious disease outbreaks
  • Creating a series of classes to promote healthy nutrition and dietary counseling skills among public health and medical students (The Cooking for Health Initiative)
