The Niagara County Department of Health aims to provide leadership and services through community health assessment, assurance of the delivery of essential public health services, and policy development in accordance with public health law to ensure a healthy disease-free environment for the citizens of Niagara County.
This training locale, a non-clinical site, will provide you with comprehensive knowledge about the operations of a county department of health. You will learn about relevant local and state laws, regulations and public health codes germane to protecting public health.
Highlights
Rotating through the Niagara County Department of Health, you will be exposed to community-based health screenings, immunizations, disease and risk surveillance data systems, community emergency preparedness activities, and investigation of potential hazard to the health of population.
Additionally, it’s here that you will develop a proposal for an intervention to improve the health of the community.
