Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship seeks a diverse group of undergraduates to participate in an outstanding laboratory research experience as they prepare for an advanced graduate degree and a future career in the pharmacology and toxicology, drug discovery, pharmaceutical sciences, neuroscience, and related disciplines.

- Opportunity to win a travel award to attend ASPET Conference
Overview of summer activities:
- Introduction to Laboratory Skills Course*
- Weekly BIOSTEM lecture*
- Mentored research communications workshops to work on posters and oral talks*
- Present poster and oral talks at Research Days*
- Complete evaluation at end of summer*
- Research in areas of drug discovery and translational research
- Discipline-specific research, career, professional development and networking by SURF Director and Research mentors
*Offered by CLIMB UP
Students work with expert faculty research mentors in the departments of:
Students are funded by an American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Grant and matching funds by University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
