Faculty Council

Faculty Council is the governing body for the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. 

Jacobs School Faculty Awards

The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Faculty Awards Committee is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of faculty members. The committee reviews award nominations and selects recipients based on established criteria for each honor. Through this process, the committee supports a culture of excellence and appreciation for faculty contributions in education, research, clinical care and service across the school.

Jacobs School Appointment, Promotion and Tenure

The Jacobs School Standing Committee on Appointment, Promotion and Tenure is the faculty advisory body to the President and Provost on matters of appointments, promotion and tenure at UB. The committee is comprised of three Sub-Committees: Sub-Committee for Appointment and Promotion to Academic (Tenurial) Ranks, Sub-Committee for Appointment and Promotion to Research Ranks and Sub-Committee for Appointment and Promotion to Clinical Ranks. Committee members are appointed for staggered, three-year terms.

NoteThe Committee members’ names are provided for information purposes only. All inquiries concerning the promotion/tenure process should be directed to the Jacobs School Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. Committee members are explicitly instructed not to discuss any case under review at any level and to report any inquiries to the Office of Faculty Affairs. Any contact with the Chair or individual members of the committee about pending or upcoming cases could jeopardize the review process.
