Family Medicine Center

You’ll experience daily office practice during this two-week rotation, which complements the core clinical training you receive in your home clinic throughout residency.

Working in your track’s designated family medicine center, you’ll continue to provide daily care and experience the real-life office practice of family physicians.

You’ll diagnose and treat patients of all ages with chronic and acute conditions, putting into practice the expertise you have gained during residency.

Our seasoned faculty will serve as your front-line advisers as they encourage you to deliver efficient, effective care.

Procedures Performed

You’ll perform a number of ambulatory procedures, including:

  • ultrasound
  • colposcopy
  • minor surgery
  • joint injections
  • Pap smears
  • vasectomies
  • skin procedures

Conditions Seen

You’ll learn how to diagnose and treat patient with a range of acute and chronic conditions, including:

  • abdominal pain
  • addiction
  • allergies/asthma
  • anxiety
  • arthritis
  • back pain
  • chest pain
  • COPD
  • depression
  • diabetes
  • dizziness
  • GERD
  • fatigue
  • headache
  • hyperlipidemia
  • hypertension
  • sinusitis
  • STDs
  • thyroid disease
  • urinary tract infections
  • vaginitis
