Radiology

Rotating through five clinical sites, you’ll gain proficiency in commonly used diagnostic imaging techniques and procedures.

Your radiology rotation equips you to interpret reports and develop care plans that attend to your patients’ needs.

You’ll become adept at recognizing the indications for nuclear imaging, CAT scans and MRIs, as well as preparing patients for these tests.

Techniques Learned

You’ll learn how to:

  • read plain X-rays of the chest and abdomen
  • diagnose fractures on plain X-ray views
  • identify evidence of osteoarthritis and osteolytic or osteoblastic lesions on films
  • determine the appropriate radiologic study to order
  • store and retrieve radiographic findings electronically
  • use computer-assisted diagnostic programs
  • identify the rationale for radiologic testing in the differential diagnosis process
