Award-winning participants in the Department of Medicine’s second annual Research Day are studying diverse topics, including disease processes for atrial fibrillation; treatments for leukemia, diabetes and COPD; and the need for cortisol.

During the forum, residents and fellows presented the results of their basic and clinical research projects via seven oral reports and 75 abstracts or posters.

The event was held May 31 at the UB Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
