Bariatric Medicine Rotation

You will become acquainted with our bariatric surgery expert at Buffalo General Medical Center and learn about the process of evaluating prospective bariatric surgery patients.

We will help you gain familiarity with the psychological, nutritional and medical evaluations bariatric patients undergo. You will also acquire knowledge about the effects of bariatric surgery on sleep apnea and other conditions, including hypertension and diabetes.

You will learn about indications and various types of surgical techniques during this rotation. You may also have opportunities to observe these procedures.

You will spend two or three half-day sessions in our bariatric medicine subspecialty rotation.
