Our program believes in shared governance and strongly values residents’ input in all programmatic initiatives. Through participation in our various resident committees, residents remain integral to our evolving curriculum, training environment and resident wellness.
The Internal Medicine Resident Committee (IMRC) is a resident-run committee comprised of representatives selected by the chief residents. The overall goals of the IMRC are to facilitate the personal and professional development of our residents and the program, enhance communication amongst residents, chief residents, program leadership and administration, foster an environment of team work and collegiality and serve as a voice for the resident body.

We strive to welcome residents and faculty from different cultures, sexual orientations, ethnic and spiritual backgrounds. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is comprised of 10-12 residents and faculty members, who are involved in designing curricula on this very important concept affecting our nation at all levels. Sessions include a safe and supportive platform for residents/faculty to share their personal opinions, stories and reflections.
The aim of the Health Equity Group is to educate residents and faculty members on health disparities and implicit bias that influences the care we deliver to our patients. With these educational sessions, we hope to bring awareness among our community of racial and implicit biases and the steps we can take to achieve health equity.
The Women in Medicine Group, comprised of medical students, residents, fellows and attendings, aims to bolster qualities of leadership in its members and support their advancement towards professional success. We provide the practical and networking resources from women empowering women, with the support of mentors and allies to expand career opportunities in medicine and beyond.
