Preliminary Medicine

Our Preliminary Internal Medicine Residency program offers outstanding training for residents whose specialties require an initial year in internal medicine and those whose careers would be enhanced by additional experience in internal medicine or critical care.

In our preliminary program, you will practice in a rich, supportive environment that maximizes professional and personal growth. We provide a solid grounding to develop your practical skills and an extensive conference schedule.

Preliminary residents make significant contributions to our school, and we take great pride in their accomplishments. Residents who have completed their preliminary year in our program have gone on to train at prestigious institutions around the country in specialties such as anesthesiology, ophthalmology, radiology, neurology, emergency medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
