Headache

Develop high-demand skills for evaluating and treating headache pain in children, training in a successful community neurology practice.

As part of the care team at an established private practice in the community, you will gain experience diagnosing and managing patients with various types of headache disorders.

You will learn to distinguish between primary (tension, migraine and cluster) headaches and secondary headaches caused by other conditions, such as sinus problems, hormone imbalances, injury or tumor.

Training in the practice’s specialized headache center, you will learn about various treatment approaches for chronic, debilitating headaches, including drugs, relaxation techniques, biofeedback and stress management.

You may be exposed to certain procedures, such as Botox and trigger-point injections, as well as nerve blocks.

You also may have the opportunity to participate in research projects at the center.
