Arthroplasty

Enhance your understanding of knee and hip arthroplasty; expand your knowledge of preoperative assessment, postoperative care and postoperative follow-up; and benefit from valuable experience in the operating room.

Our arthroplasty rotation allows you to undertake five-week preceptorships, giving you one-on-one experience with faculty members who:

  • stay current with the latest practices and techniques
  • dedicate themselves to improving the outcomes of primary joint replacement
  • have expertise in caring for patients from diverse cultures

The preceptorships enable you to receive personal training, direct supervision and constructive advice as you see patients in the office, perform operations and care for patients on the floors.

You’ll strengthen the skills necessary to do osteotomies, joint arthroplasty and arthrodesis.

Notably, our arthroplasty rotation provides significant exposure to computer-navigated knee replacement.

We’ll review emergency room cases and consults with you daily, and you can expect to provide on-call coverage for the emergency room and the hospital.
