New Student Checklist

Admissions Checklist: Due by June 12, 2026

Background Check: Admission to our Medical School is contingent upon a satisfactory identity/background check. Permission to begin this check will be requested via email from Certiphi Screening, Inc. This is performed because you will begin clinical exposure to patients during the first semester of your first year of medical school. For the safety of our patients and for your own protection, a background check is performed on all of our accepted students.
Submit your final official transcripts to Mrs. Laura Yusick in Admissions. Final official transcripts should show your degree conferred.
Complete the University’s Health Background Form, which needs the signature of a health care provider and a PPD. Submit to UB Student Health Services (address on top right of form).

Upload a photo for your UB ID Card
Note: If you attended UB as an undergraduate student, you will not need to upload a new photo. However, you will be receiving a new card due to new technology on the new medical campus. There will be a cost associated with the card. For questions, please call the UB Card Office.
Complete your CITI training. Please contact Dr. Alan Lesse with any questions regarding CITI training.
Attest that you have read the Code of Professional Conduct.
Register for any optional Parking Permits
Note: NFTA bus and metro rail passes will be automatically loaded on your UB Card.
Make personal transportation and housing arrangements for medical school.
Attest to having health insurance.

You will be registered for your M1 courses by the Office of Student and Academic Affairs by July 13, 2026, provided that any outstanding HOLD(s) on your account has been resolved.
Your financial aid cannot be disbursed if you are not registered.
