Twenty-nine faculty members with a variety of clinical and research experience — representing 12 medical school departments — have joined the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences over the past several months.
Andrew D. Baumgartner, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of family medicine.
His research focus is on aging, medical education and medication safety.
Baumgartner completed a residency in family medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, during which he completed supplementary training in medical education via completion of the academic tract, developing a point-of-care ultrasound curriculum for the program.
He also held the role of academic chief resident, designing and implementing a year-long grand rounds lecture series.
Baumgartner obtained his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, graduating with research honors.
Frederick M. Elliott, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of family medicine. He is board certified in family medicine and addiction medicine.
He completed residencies in family medicine at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center/University at Buffalo and in pediatrics at the New York University School of Medicine.
Elliott obtained his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Sarah N. Sonenberg, MD, is a clinical instructor-academic scholar in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
She completed a point-of-care ultrasound fellowship and emergency medicine residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Sonenberg obtained her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, graduating summa cum laude.
Mohammad N. Haider, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of orthopaedics.
His research focuses on bioinformatics, neuroscience, sports medicine and traumatic brain injury.
Haider obtained his medical degree from Dow Medical College and his doctoral degree in neuroscience from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
He also received an advanced study certificate in applied statistics from UB’s School of Public Health and Health Professions.
Eric Kaczor, MD, is a clinical assistant professor-academic scholar in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
He completed a fellowship in toxicology and a residency in emergency medicine, both at the UMass Chan Medical School.
Kaczor earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Joshua Nazirbage, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry.
As a child and adolescent psychiatrist, he sees patients in multiple settings.
He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College.
Frank D. Stephan, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor of biotechnical and clinical laboratory sciences.
He completed a postdoctoral fellowship and earned a doctoral degree in biological sciences from the University at Buffalo.
Gary G. Wang, MD, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics.
His research focuses on physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Renier Brentjens, MD, PhD, is a professor of medicine.
Hannah C. Brummer, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics.
Julie E. Finnell, PhD, is a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Kaitlyn L. Fromknecht, DO, is a clinical instructor-academic scholar in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Anuradha Krishnamurthy, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of medicine.
Sandra Kuhlman, PhD, is an associate professor of physiology and biophysics.
Pui Man Rosalind Lai, MD, is an assistant professor of neurosurgery.
Patrick Moyer, DO, is a clinical instructor-academic scholar in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
