Child and Adolescent Mobile Psychiatric Services (CAMPS)

Our CAMPS team, run out of the Children’s Psychiatry Clinic, serves children and adolescents who struggle to attend their in-clinic outpatient appointments.

The CAMPS team is made up of a child psychiatrist, a licensed therapist and a master’s level care manager who travel to meet participants in their homes, schools or community spaces rather than inside the clinic. Providers also travel to local schools and individual classrooms for consultations, meetings and school observations. The team commonly works with patients on a variety of issues including addressing the barriers to attending in-clinic appointments, school issues, trouble with treatment and medication adherence, behavioral problems, anxiety, and frequent hospital or emergency room visits. Treatment offered by CAMPS includes in home or on-site therapy, case management services and medication management.

Fellows will participate in CAMPS mobile visits under the direct supervision of the CAMPS team at least twice during their second year of training. Additional dates can be arranged based on fellow interest.
